Ventura is a thriving suburb between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, nicknamed “Shisolop.” It is known for its shopping centers, notably its outlet malls, and also hosts the headquarters for Patagonia. Located on the water, its coast is covered in public beaches. Ventura also boasts five college campuses, including the Brooks Institute of Photography and the Ventura College of Law. Downtown you can find the Mission San Buenaventura, multiple museums and galleries and many recreational parks.
